Product Trends
Club events make up a relatively small portion of puzzle event investments, even though 59% of tracked puzzle apps have club features. Only one app released more than three club events in the past year—and only seven apps released any club events at all.
The number of club event releases in tracked puzzle apps has remained mostly flat for the past year. Club event investment ranks slightly above the median number of releases for all puzzle event types.
Breakout & Soft-Launch Apps
Tiles & Tales by Kuu Hubb Oy combines match-3 gameplay with an interactive story sim progression—two of the most popular genres with female players. Levels award keys that allow players to choose how to progress in four stories.
In Merge Gardens by Futureplay, match-3 levels award resources and wildlife for a customizable garden. Wildlife can be merged to upgrade creatures and unlock new garden areas.
EverMerge by Big Fish Games was the 34th highest-grossing puzzle app less than one month after its release. In this merge-3 app, players clear objects from play areas to collect resources, then merge those resources to create characters, buildings, and more. Characters can make recipes to fulfill orders and unlock new areas.
