Product Roundtable on Cosmetic Progressions

About the Event

[PAST EVENT]

September 26, 2024
9:00 – 10:00 AM PST

Join us for a comprehensive roundtable discussion on a major trend in leading mobile games: adding progressions to cosmetics.

We’ll be joined by special guests Joseph Kim, Talia Shmuel, David Nelson, and Brett Nowak to explore some of the unique cosmetic features driving engagement and revenue in Stumble Guys and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

In this roundtable, we’ll discuss two mechanic insights that stood out in casual and core:

  • First, we’ll discuss the Abilities feature in Stumble Guys, which is a rework of its interactive emotes into upgradable abilities. This update adds strategic depth to the app’s core gameplay and creates a new channel for long-term engagement and spend.
  • Then, we’ll explore Mobile Legend: Bang Bang’s Collection update, one of the first permanent progressions for skin collection we’ve seen in any core app, contributing to a strong revenue increase of 25% 3Wo3W.

This roundtable is a great opportunity to understand how different games implement cosmetics. Join us to learn from these successful examples and gather insights to apply to your own game development strategies.
