Brawl Stars‘ New Battle Pass Leads to a 64% Revenue Jump and Record–High DAUs
Since the start of 2024, Brawl Stars’ revenue has increased 64% 7Wo7W, and its DAU is the highest it’s been since the app’s launch in 2018.
This success is due in large part to four major changes to the app’s battlepass and hero release format. These updates:
- Require players to pay cash instead of premium currency for premium passes.
- Halve the length of battle pass seasons to reduce mid-season churn.
- Change the battle pass’ focus from daily challenges to season-long challenges.
- Offer high-price IAPs that grant early access to new heroes.
Brawl Stars‘ U.S. Daily Active Users
Seasons (reskinned mechanics released at regular intervals) remain rare across markets. In the core market, challenge seasons—like Brawl Stars’ battle pass—are both the most frequently released season type and one of the most successful.

Weapon Trials, Match Modifiers, and a Hero Shard Exchange
A new event in Call of Duty: Mobile lets players try out a character and weapon each day. Players also complete challenges to earn tokens, which they can spend in a shop to permanently buy those characters and weapons.
An event in Garena Free Fire has players complete matches and tasks in order to vote on match modifiers for certain game modes. There are five rounds of voting, and the winning modifiers stack sequentially until the end of the event.
Raid: Shadow Legends now allows players to trade unused hero shards for points. Players spend points to buy chests, which award shards used to summon a legendary hero.
